Give a derivation the space it actually needs

Calculus and algebra

Start at a comfortable writing size and pan as the derivation grows. Keep definitions and the worked example side by side, or separate warm-up, examples and practice into pages without opening another document.

Geometry and coordinates

Drag the virtual ruler onto the canvas, rotate it, and write along its top edge for snapped straight strokes. Use the line tool for quick axes, construction lines and vectors. A subtle grid can support coordinate work without turning the board into graph paper permanently.

Exam questions and diagrams

Copy a question, graph or table with the Snipping Tool and press Ctrl+V to place it on the canvas. Use the Select tool to move or resize the image, then annotate it with the pen. PNG export creates a simple handout of the finished working.

A 60-minute lesson layout

  1. Warm-up: two retrieval questions.
  2. Explanation: definitions and the main derivation on an open canvas.
  3. Worked example: paste or write the problem and solve it line by line.
  4. Practice: move to a clean page while preserving the explanation.
  5. Homework: export the final board or keep the project ready for next time.
