Pen notes on Windows

Handwritten notes on a page that never ends

Some notes are faster to write than to type: equations, arrows, diagrams, margin thoughts. InfinitiCanvas turns a Windows pen device into a notebook with paper-style backgrounds and no page edges.

A notebook that behaves like paper, minus the limits

  • Choose your paper. Ruled for prose, grid for maths, dots for sketching, or blank. Pick a white, beige, pale blue, pale yellow or dark background.
  • Choose your pen. Pen for everyday writing, ballpoint for small dense notes, pencil for rough working and highlighter for what matters.
  • Never turn the page. Keep writing to the right or below; zoom out to see the whole set of notes at once.
  • Rearrange afterwards. Lasso a paragraph or a diagram and drag, resize, rotate or recolour it.
  • Mix in images. Paste screenshots, photos of a whiteboard or a figure from a paper.
  • Type when it is quicker. Press T for a typed heading or label.

Organising notes

Use one .infiniticanvas file per notebook (a course, a project, a client) and one page tab per session or topic. Double-click a tab to rename it. Files save wherever you choose — the default name is my-notes.infiniticanvas — and the app reopens exactly where you left off.

Who it suits

Students in maths and science subjects, researchers working through derivations, engineers sketching ideas, and anyone who thinks better with a pen. InfinitiCanvas is a single-user Windows app: there is no real-time collaboration, no cloud sync, no handwriting-to-text and no PDF import yet. Handwriting is stored as ink, not text, so it cannot be searched.

Common questions

Does InfinitiCanvas convert handwriting to text?

No. Handwriting-to-text would need a cloud service, which conflicts with the app working fully offline. Use a typed text box (T) for anything you want as text.

Is it pressure-sensitive?

Strokes have a consistent width chosen with keys 1 to 4 rather than varying with pen pressure, which keeps handwriting even and legible.
