Handwritten explainer videos without fighting your software

Explainer channels and online courses live on clear handwriting appearing at the pace you speak. InfinitiCanvas is a clean, distraction-free board for your pen that any screen recorder can capture — no watermarks, no pop-up menus, no subscription.

A simple recording setup

  1. Prepare the board. Lay out pages for each section of the video; paste any images or diagrams you will talk over. Save the project.
  2. Pick a look. A dark board with bright ink or a white board with dark ink both read well when compressed. Use thickness 2 or 3.
  3. Capture the window. In OBS Studio add a Window Capture source for InfinitiCanvas; or press Win+Alt+R in the Xbox Game Bar to record the active app; or use any screen recorder you already have.
  4. Write and talk. Hold Space to pan to fresh space instead of erasing, and zoom in for detail.
  5. Export a thumbnail or handout. One-click PNG export (at twice screen resolution) gives you an image of the finished board for a thumbnail, community post or course download.

Why it works well on camera

  • Mostly ink, very little interface. One slim toolbar and a large canvas; tools switch with single keys, so no menus pop up mid-shot. Crop the toolbar out in your recorder if you prefer.
  • An infinite page. Viewers see the whole explanation build up rather than a board wiped every few seconds.
  • Clean shapes and lines. Shape recognition and the ruler make diagrams look intentional.
  • Undo without cutting. Ctrl+Z quietly removes a slip; the eraser never damages pasted images.
  • Consistent sessions. Prepared lesson files reopen exactly as you left them for the next take.

Good to know

InfinitiCanvas does not record video itself; it is the board you record. There is no built-in laser pointer or replay animation, and strokes have a consistent width rather than varying with pen pressure.

Common questions

Does InfinitiCanvas add a watermark to videos?

No. Nothing is added to the canvas or to PNG exports, in the trial or after purchase. During the trial the toolbar shows how many days are left; crop the toolbar out in your recorder if you do not want it in shot.

Can I use InfinitiCanvas videos commercially?

Yes. Content you create on the board is yours, including monetised videos and paid courses.

Which screen recorder should I use?

Any Windows recorder that can capture a window works: OBS Studio, the Xbox Game Bar (Win+Alt+R), Camtasia, ShareX, Loom and others.
