How to share InfinitiCanvas in Zoom
- Open InfinitiCanvas and the lesson you prepared.
- In the Zoom meeting, click Share Screen in the meeting controls.
- Choose the InfinitiCanvas window (not the whole desktop) and click Share.
- Write. Students see the board update live; your other windows and notifications stay private.
- Click Stop Share to return to gallery view for discussion.
Students only need Zoom — no accounts, links or extra apps. The board is drawn on your computer, so it stays responsive however slow a student's connection is.
Before the lesson
- Prepare pages in advance. Add a page per stage (warm-up, worked example, practice) and paste questions with Win+Shift+S and Ctrl+V. Save it as a
.infiniticanvasproject (Ctrl+S). - Use thicker strokes. Video compression softens fine lines. Thickness 2 or 3 (keys
2,3) reads far better than the thinnest pen on a student's phone. - Pick a high-contrast background. Bright ink on the dark board or dark ink on a light board both survive compression; avoid pale yellow on white.
- Use two screens if you can. Keep InfinitiCanvas on one display and the participant view and chat on the other.
Tips specific to Zoom
- Sharing a single window means your notifications and other apps stay off the students' view.
- If text looks soft for students, increase stroke thickness rather than changing Zoom's video settings.
- Zoom's own annotation tools can stay switched off for participants so the board stays yours; export a PNG for them afterwards.
- When you record a lesson, the shared InfinitiCanvas window is what gets recorded.
After the lesson
Export each page as a PNG with one click and attach it to the chat, an email, your LMS or Google Classroom, so students keep a clean copy of exactly what was written. The project file stays on your computer for next year's class.
Common questions
Does InfinitiCanvas work with Zoom?
Yes. Share the InfinitiCanvas window from Zoom's Share Screen menu. It works with the Zoom desktop app and with Zoom in a browser on Windows.
Do students need to install anything?
No. They only see your shared window in Zoom.
Can students write on the board?
Not inside InfinitiCanvas; it is a single-teacher board. Students can respond in Zoom chat or verbally, and you can paste a photo of their working onto the board to mark it live.
